ANGELES CITY, PHILIPPINES  You can’t beat the location, right in the heart of the Fields Avenue entertainment district.  The grub’s not bad, either.  Sub Delicious offers a nearly overwhelming selection of food, mostly dominated by the subs, pizza, and wings–the Holy Trinity of American foods. 

The service is good, very prompt.  The menu has several winners, including the signature Philly Cheesesteak, assorted meat, and meatball subs.  The pizza is slightly above average, but the wings are above average.  As they like to say on TV, “but wait, that’s not all”.  Sub Delicious also has a full breakfast menu with the requisite American breakfast, omelets, et al.  It also serves some tasty appetizers, including pizza and taco fingers, which you probably won’t find anywhere else in the Philippines.  Take a pass on the soups, salads, and tacos, they are at best average and over-priced.

Enjoy your food either in air-conditioned, diner style, or sit on the small patio and people watch.  Annoying vendors and beggars tend to detract from the outside atmosphere.

Prices aren’t all that exciting and are erratic.  You’ll pay around P200+ pesos (~$4.50) for the average sub, which is reasonable, but if you want fries with it, add an extra P125 (~$2.80)!  Someone needs to clue these guys in that potatoes and oil are a heck of alot cheaper than buns and beef.  Want to get healthy?  Go somewhere else, a Chef Salad will run you P195 (~$4.40).  On the other hand, a 12 inch pizza will cost you a more reasonable P395 (~$8.90). 

The prices are basically low U.S. level, all in all.

If you want to entertain yourself while you wait for your sandwich, Sub-D has 2 pool tables.  You might have to wait:  the tables are popular.  Still, it can be fun playing pool in a pizza parlor atmosphere without the blaring music of some of the nightclub-style bars in the area.
